The line up is:

ANDY HEARD (Founder/2nd Trumpet/French Horn)

From the early age of 6, he showed a flair for Brass playing; starting off as a cornet player in many local brass bands and orchestras including Colchester Silver Band, Halstead Orchestra and KES Concert Brass.  He has performed at the Albert Hall and extensively throughout Essex and the Home Counties.  He won many competitions for his solo and ensemble Cornet playing and later took up the French Horn which he played in the Army.

Andy recently graduated from the Colchester Institute with a 2:1 in Music specialising in composition and performance.  He studies singing with Catherine May.   He has also sung solos with Lexden Choral Society directed by Sarah Blake in Beethoven's Choral Fantasia and Handel's My Heart is Inditing & Messiah and with Aurora Voices in concert versions of Handel’s Semele and Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas.  He recently sang Earl of Essex in Merrie England for Maldon Choral Society & performed the baritone solo in Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs with Aurora Consort in October.  Forthcoming concerts include a busy recital schedule and singing solo for in Handel’s Messiah in May 2015.

Andy is the Administrator/Horn Player for  5live Wind Quintet, a Quintet funded by the Essex Education Hub to introduce Primary school children to traditional woodwind instruments through a 45  minute concert (involving a range of music from different genres) by a professional wind quintet, followed by an instrument zoo – this is where the children will get a few minutes to try every instrument.
